Vijay Sales has stealthily entered Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max early price cut which is among the earliest, a move that usually does not occur for shoppers so soon after the launch. The original price stays at Rs 1,49,900, however, the retailer is offering a discount on the effective price for Black Friday through bank-linked reductions.

The store is not providing any direct price cuts—something Apple almost always does not allow—but some payment cards give access to a slight discount. Customers who use HSBC credit cards for EMI can receive the total reduction of ₹7,500, which is the maximum benefit in the list. HDFC cardholders can get up to ₹4,500, and users of ICICI and SBI can reduce the amount by Rs 4,000.

These discounts do not suddenly turn the phone into a “budget” one, yet they do slightly lower the entry point. Those who wish for a big price drop can combine the bank offer and an exchange deal, though the common rule still applies: older phones will get less and trade-in values differ per platform. Services like Cashify usually provide a more transparent base for resale valuations.

As the device is still in its first year and Apple’s prices are rarely adjusted, many customers are left pleading whether the 17 Pro Max is worth the price. Here’s a swift summary of what is in its favor—and what is not.

Points for the iPhone 17 Pro Max

1. Display that is more outdoor-friendly

This year, Apple brightened the display and added a new anti-glare layer to it. The upgrade may not push the numbers to the top of the industry list but it does change the visibility in real-world scenarios. The display can be seen clearly even in strong sunlight without being hindered by reflections. The phone is equipped with a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED with ProMotion 1Hz–120Hz, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and True Tone. The peak brightness for outdoor use has been increased to a record 3,000 nits, turning daily outdoor usage into a much easier task.

2. A19 Pro performance with vapor-chamber cooling

The A19 Pro is able to do everything like gaming, editing, and long video sessions silently. The major revolution is the vapour-chamber system installation; users have been wanting this feature for years. The gadget still becomes hot, but not so much as to cause throttling in the case of prolonged working.

3. New aluminum build feels more balanced

Apple’s unexpected shift to aluminum ignited a discussion, but soon the practical advantages were made clear. The device is more calming in terms of its balance in hand, the matte rear surface is non-slippery and also there is an increase in scratch resistance and visibility due to Ceramic Shield 2. The bigger camera unit blends more easily into the body than in the past.

4. Camera upgrades across all lenses

The three rear cameras all now rely on 48MP sensors, resulting in more detailed images through better software tuning. The telephoto lens goes from a 5x 12MP-system to a 48 MP 4x optical setup, thus producing much sharper zoom shots. The 18MP front camera adds a wider "horizontal selfie" mode even for vertical holding. Apple also introduces the dual-capture feature, which allows creators to record the front and rear views at the same time.

5. Video recording remains its strongest weapon

Apple’s supremacy in video is still unbroken. The video is stable, detailed, and consistent regardless of the lighting. The built-in camera app is simple for the beginners but still enables advanced workflows. For everyone who records often — YouTubers, vloggers, even casual users — reliability is a big attraction point.

6. Long battery life and fast charging

The battery gets a significant upgrade to a whopping 4,832 mAh (or even more, 5,088 mAh, if you consider the eSIM-only variants). Together with the A19 Pro's power-saving feature, the smartphone outlasts the 16 Pro Max during heavy tasks by a quite noticeable duration. The charging speed is also higher: Apple's 40W adapter supports the phone to reach 50% in approximately 20 minutes, and Qi2 wireless goes with 25W.

Reasons not to buy

1. No charger included

Apple provides the possibility of faster charging, but still, the box without an adapter is the shipment. Anyone switching from older iPhones may have to get the 40W unit which adds extra cost to the purchase.

2. Size and weight might be not for everyone

The 17 Pro Max is a 233-gram smartphone with a 6.9-inch display, making its size not suitable for a lot of users. The iPhone 17 Pro should be chosen by those who wish to have similar performance but with better handling.
